Position Title: Barista cum Cafe Assistant

Reports To: Cafe Manager/Store Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Barista cum Cafe Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with inventory management, handling customer orders, and supporting various operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Coffee Preparation:
Brew and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, and espressos.
Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment efficiently.
Maintain knowledge of coffee blends and brewing techniques.
Ensure consistency and high standards in beverage presentation and taste.
Customer Service:
Greet customers with a friendly, welcoming attitude.
Take customer orders and provide recommendations on drinks, food items, and promotions.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
Ensure a positive customer experience by providing timely and efficient service.
Cafe Assistance:
Assist in the preparation and serving of food items such as sandwiches, pastries, or snacks.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness in the cafe, including cleaning tables, counters, and equipment.
Stock and organize supplies, ensuring that the cafe is well-maintained and fully stocked.
Assist with dishwashing and keeping the kitchen area tidy.
Cash Handling & Register:
Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
Ensure correct handling of cash, credit card, and mobile payments.
Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of the shift.
Inventory and Stock Management:
Assist with receiving and organizing inventory shipments.
Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients.
Inform the manager of any low stock items or needed supplies.
Health & Safety:
Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines at all times.
Ensure the cafe complies with all health and safety regulations.
Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and customer-facing areas.
Team Support:
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Provide assistance to other team members when necessary.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar customer-facing role is preferred but not required.
Basic knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and espresso machine operation.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and a passion for quality service.
Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.
Flexible and reliable, with a positive and professional attitude.
Ability to work weekends, and holidays as required.
