Role Summary

Backup & Disaster Recovery (BDR) Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor 

  enterprise backup solutions

  (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup).
• Execute, test, and document 

  backup and disaster recovery (DR) plans

  , ensuring compliance with RTO/RPO objectives.
• Conduct 

  backup integrity checks

  and perform 

  test restores

  to validate disaster recovery readiness.
• Monitor 

  storage systems, replication, and capacity

  to maintain optimal uptime.
• Respond promptly to 

  backup failures, storage alerts, and recovery incidents

  .
• Collaborate with NOC, system, and security teams to ensure 

  end-to-end recovery planning

  .
• Create detailed 

  backup logs, recovery reports, and DR documentation

  .
• Participate in 

  DR drills

  and recommend improvements to business continuity plans.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of 

  backup technologies, disaster recovery, and storage infrastructure

  .
• Experience with 

  Windows, Unix, and Linux environments

  .
• Familiarity with 

  cloud backup solutions

  and hybrid DR strategies.
• Ability to troubleshoot 

  backup, replication, and recovery issues

  .
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in 

  Backup & Disaster Recovery

  , 

  Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

  , or equivalent.
• Experience with 

  storage replication technologies

  and 

  high-availability solutions

  .
• Exposure to 

  cloud-based DR platforms

  (Azure/AWS backup & site recovery).
• Prior experience in a 

  data protection or recovery operations role

  .
• Availability for 

  on-call rotation

  and emergency support.
