Role Summary

Backend Engineering Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems using

  Java and Spring Boot

• Architect and implement

  RESTful APIs and Microservices-based solutions

• Ensure

  API security, authentication, authorization, rate-limiting, and versioning

  best practices
• Build and deploy

  containerized services

  using Docker; orchestrate with Kubernetes
• Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams to drive

  CI/CD, monitoring, and reliability engineering

• Optimize backend performance for

  low latency, fault tolerance, and high availability

• Mentor backend engineers, enforce

  code quality, design patterns, and engineering standards

• Partner with Frontend, Product, and QA teams for

  end-to-end software delivery

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years

  of experience in backend software development
• Expertise in

  Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture

• Proficiency in

  Docker and Kubernetes

  for containerization and orchestration
• Experience with

  workflow/orchestration/ESB tools

  (TIBCO BW, Camunda preferred)
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (

  AWS, Azure, or GCP

  )
• Solid knowledge of

  SQL and NoSQL databases

  (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Familiarity with

  CI/CD tools

  (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
• Understanding of

  asynchronous messaging systems

  (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Strong problem-solving ability, design thinking, and leadership skills
• Proven ability to enforce

  code quality and engineering best practices

Nice to Have

• Experience with

  API gateways

  , rate-limiting, and

  OpenAPI/Swagger

• Knowledge of caching strategies (

  Redis, Hazelcast

  )
• Exposure to

  observability and monitoring tools

  (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
