Azure Terraform Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Design, Develop, and Maintain Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC):

• Author scalable, reusable Terraform modules for provisioning Azure resources such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage Accounts, Function Apps, Key Vault, and Log Analytics.
• Implement best practices for state management using remote backends (e.g., Azure Storage with state locking via Azure Blob).

Build and Manage End-to-End Azure DevOps Pipelines:

• Design multi-stage YAML pipelines with pre/post-deployment approvals, variable groups, secrets management, and conditional triggers.
• Automate Terraform workflows (init, plan, apply, destroy) with pipeline-integrated validation and linting steps.

Azure Repos and Release Governance:

• Establish branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based), manage pull requests, enforce code review policies, and maintain pipeline artifacts for versioned deployments.
• Integrate pipeline gates, approvals, and rollback mechanisms for secure releases.

Cloud Governance & Compliance Enforcement:

• Enforce RBAC with least-privilege principles, naming conventions, resource tagging policies, and cost-control via Azure Policy and budget alerts.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure regulatory alignment (e.g., GDPR, ISO).

Monitoring, Observability, and Support:

• Set up and manage alerts, diagnostic logs, and metrics using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues across environments (Dev/Test/Prod), perform root cause analysis, and manage infrastructure incidents.

Desired Technical Skills & Experience

Terraform Expertise (Azure-Focused):

• Advanced proficiency in Terraform with experience in building modular codebases, input/output variable management, dependency handling, and workspace isolation.
• Familiar with Terraform Cloud/Enterprise, Terragrunt, or remote backends using Azure Storage with state locking.

Azure DevOps Toolchain Mastery:

• Hands-on experience with Azure Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, Service Connections, and Environment Approvals.
• Experience integrating Terraform CLI into pipelines and managing secrets securely using Azure Key Vault.

Azure Platform Knowledge:

• Deep familiarity with deploying and operating Azure services including:
• Azure Databricks (workspaces, clusters, job scheduling)
• Azure Data Factory (integration runtimes, pipelines, triggers)
• Azure Functions (serverless apps, CI/CD)
• Storage Accounts, Key Vault, Log Analytics, and VNET Integration

Security & Monitoring Awareness:

• Good understanding of Azure AD, Managed Identities, RBAC, role assignments, and secure token flows.
• Experience implementing logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions for infrastructure health and cost optimization.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
