AutoCAD Draughtsman

Job Summary The Architectural Draughtsman is responsible for preparing detailed architectural drawings and construction documents based on the concept design and direction provided by architects or design leads. The role demands precision, strong technical knowledge of architectural detailing, and familiarity with building codes, construction practices, and CAD/BIM software. Key Responsibilities Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models for architectural layouts, sections, elevations, and detailed working drawings. Interpret design sketches and convert them into accurate construction documents. Draft plans, elevations, sections, site plans, and architectural detailing (toilet/kitchen joinery, doors/windows, furniture, etc.) Prepare drawings for municipal approvals in compliance with local building codes and regulations. Coordinate with structural, MEP, and interior teams for multidisciplinary integration. Assist in preparing BOQ take-offs, quantity estimations, and drawing registers. Maintain drawing standards, templates, and ensure document control procedures are followed. Revise drawings based on feedback from the architect or client. Visit sites when required to take measurements or resolve technical issues. Key Skills & Competencies Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or SketchUp, along with Photoshop and Microsoft Office tools. Strong understanding of architectural detailing, materials, and construction processes. Ability to interpret and work from architectural sketches and verbal instructions. Familiarity with building bye-laws, NBC norms, and local regulations. Meticulous attention to accuracy, layer discipline, and scale integrity. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure. Good communication and team coordination skills. Qualifications & Experience Diploma / ITI / Degree in Architectural Drafting or Civil Engineering. Minimum 2–5 years of experience in architectural drafting in a professional setup. Experience in residential, commercial, or institutional projects is preferred. Career Path Progression to roles such as Senior Draughtsman, BIM Coordinator, Design Executive, or Architectural Technician, based on experience and performance.
