Job Description

The Audit Director position at Citigroup is a senior management role that involves contributing to the strategic direction of the Internal Audit (IA) function. In this position, you will work closely with the Audit team and be responsible for managing multiple teams of professionals. Your main objective will be to direct audit activities that support a subset of a product line, function, or legal entity at the global or regional level, in alignment with IA standards, Citi policies, and local regulations. Your responsibilities will include delivering multiple audits to specification, ensuring the timely and insightful delivery of audit reports, providing independent assurance on the design and operating effectiveness of an area, and overseeing audits coverage and reporting on common high-risk areas. You will also be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of comprehensive regulatory and internal audit issue validation, supporting the IA Transformation Program, and driving improvements in governance, risk, and control environments. As the Audit Director, you will play a key role in building the audit team by recruiting staff, developing and training the team, and managing the budget. You will need to assess risks when making business decisions, demonstrate ethical judgment and compliance with laws and regulations, and supervise the activity of others to maintain high standards. If you are designated as the Legal Entity Chief Audit Executive, your responsibilities will include overseeing the development of the annual Audit Plan, presenting the plan for approval by the legal entity Board, and providing periodic reports to the legal entity Audit Committees and senior management. Qualifications: - 15+ years of experience in a related role - Related certifications (CPA, ACA, CFA, CIA, CISA or similar) preferred - Demonstrated success in business, functional, and people management - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment - Effective negotiation skills Education: - Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience - Masters degree preferred Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer, and we encourage all qualified applicants to apply for career opportunities.
