Job Profile

Provide strategic direction on research and policy analysis related to energy sector reforms, emerging technologies, and the clean energy transition.
Lead development of Compendium of Energy Efficiency Rules and Regulations.
Undertake regulatory gap assessments through research, international benchmarking, and stakeholder consultations.
Oversee the design, application, and validation of advanced modeling tools (capacity expansion, production cost, resource adequacy, demand-side integration) at national and state/DISCOM levels.
Manage project teams, mentor junior researchers, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Coordinate with BEE and other stakeholders for validation, review, and dissemination of research outputs.
Support the design and execution of stakeholder workshops and consultations.

Experience

5 - 9 Years

Qualification

Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics/Power Systems/Energy Economics or related fields with at least 2 years of relevant research or policy experience; or a Post-graduate degree in the same fields with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Skills

- Strong understanding of energy policy- regulatory frameworks- and institutional mechanisms in India. Provide strategic direction on research and policy analysis related to energy sector reforms- emerging technologies- and the clean energy transition.

- Good understanding of the Energy Conservation Act 2001- Electricity Act 2003- and the rules and regulations made under the two Acts
- Experience in policy research- preferably in energy efficiency or sustainability domains. - Proficiency in power system modelling software such as PLEXOS- GridPath- PyPSA- GAMS. - Excellent programming skills in Python- MATLAB- or Julia and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI- Tableau- etc. - Excellent writing- communication- and stakeholder engagement skills.
