Assistant/Deputy Manager Production

Role & responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute SMT manufacturing activities in line with production schedules and business targets.
• Ensure optimum utilization of plant capacity, manpower, and resources.
• Monitor key production KPIs and take corrective/preventive actions as necessary
• Ensure strict compliance with IATF, regulatory guidelines, and internal quality standards.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Regulatory Affairs, and EHS departments to maintain inspection readiness.
• Support quality investigations (8D, change control, CAPA) related to production activities.
• Initiate and implement process improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, OEE improvement).
• Collaborate with Engineering, Projects, and Technology Transfer teams for new product introductions and capacity expansions.
• Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring adherence to all EHS standards.
• Lead, develop and mentor a team of production professionals, operators, and shift in-charges.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of batch records, logbooks, equipment cleaning records, and SAP entries as per GMP requirements.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration, performance management, and employee engagement.
• Coordinate daily production activities and assignments.
• Monitor employee work performance relative to expectations and maintain material/workflow through the facility daily.
• Ensure all stations are producing product that meets the companys quality standards.
• Evaluate and modify the manufacturing material workflow for increased throughput and productivity if required.
• Develop, motivate and challenge all team members to perform to their full potential, timely feedback in formal and informal media
• With the line Engineers/Managers and supervisors, develop and maintain work schedules that support 100% on-time delivery to main lines.
• Work with the line managers, supervisors and direct employees on a daily basis to improve quality levels (Goal: Zero Defect product).
• Ensure that all manufacturing area personnel are thoroughly trained and certified in their specific functions.
• Provide meaningful training, guidance and nurturing to the supervisory staff
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel.
• Ensure equipment and tools are in good working condition and available for use when required.

Preferred candidate profile

• 1520 years of experience in SMT Manufacturing
• At least 3–5 years in a leadership role handling large-scale production units
• Hands-on experience with regulatory audits( IATF, MACE)
• Graduated from a recognised university or have an equivalent diploma.
• Excellent record-keeping and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and good comprehension skills.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects using warehouse trolleys and carts.
• Familiarity with systems like SAP.
