Job Description

In this role as the Assistant Vice President, Fund Accounting & Operations within Oaktree's Fund Accounting & Operations Shared Services team, you will be responsible for reviewing accounting-related responses to due diligence questions and client requests across fund accounting strategies prepared by a team of analysts. Your role will involve acting as a liaison between Fund Accounting and various departments like Marketing, Client Services, and Diligence Services teams to ensure efficient client service. Additionally, you will assist in implementing or enhancing standardized processes within Oaktree's CFO Organization. Your key responsibilities will include: - Managing communication across multiple departments to respond effectively and efficiently to due diligence requests from prospective clients - Providing oversight and day-to-day guidance to other Shared Services team members in the Hyderabad office to ensure high-quality deliverables - Overseeing and validating complex investor performance calculations and supporting materials prepared by analysts for Client Services and Marketing - Reviewing, preparing, and processing ad hoc client inquiries related to fund reporting and partner activity - Serving as a primary point of contact for client-facing requests involving accounting data and reporting - Supporting consistency and accuracy across fund accounting processes by reviewing key deliverables and identifying process improvement opportunities To qualify for this role, you should have: - Minimum 8-10+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the investment management industry - 3+ years of management experience and proven leadership skills - Strong communication skills tailored to various audiences - Knowledge of private investment funds, investment company accounting, and partnership accounting - Familiarity with investment management operations and performance - Excellent judgment, analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel In addition to the qualifications required, you should possess the following personal attributes: - Relationship Building: ability to work effectively with diverse teams and gain the confidence of various stakeholders - Communication: strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills - Independence & Collaboration: proficient at working independently and collaboratively with attention to detail - Flexibility & Organization: adaptability to shifting priorities and timelines with strong problem-solving capabilities - Driving Results: committed to achieving results with a sense of ownership and follow-through - Intellectual Curiosity: energized by learning new things and engaging across a wide range of issues You should hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field to be considered for this position.
