Assistant Purchase Manager

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage the

  entire P2P cycle

  including PR, RFQ, negotiations, PO issuance, GRN coordination, invoicing, and payments
• Procure

  raw materials, consumables, spares, capital items, and services

  relevant to steel/manufacturing operations
• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage

  vendors & suppliers

  ; maintain approved vendor list
• Conduct

  price negotiations

  , rate contracts, and annual cost-saving initiatives
• Ensure

  timely availability of materials

  to support production planning and plant operations
• Coordinate with

  Production, Stores, Quality, Finance, and Engineering

  teams
• Track vendor performance on

  cost, quality, delivery, and compliance

• Ensure adherence to

  company procurement policies, audit requirements, and statutory compliances

• Maintain proper procurement documentation, MIS, and purchase reports
  
• Handle

  import/export procurement

  (if applicable) and logistics coordination
  
• Support

  inventory control

  , optimum stock levels, and working capital optimization

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Experience:

  7-10 years in Purchase / Procurement (Manufacturing / Steel / Infra preferred)

• Qualification:

  Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or relevant field
• Strong exposure to

  ERP systems (Light House / SAP / Oracle / Tally / similar)

• Sound knowledge of

  P2P processes, vendor negotiations, and contract management

• Experience in

  steel pipes / metals / heavy engineering industry

  will be an added advantage
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
