Assistant Purchase Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Sourcing of packaging material for Primary, Secondary & Tertiary Packaging like Flexible Laminate, Mono cartons, Liner Cartons, Window Cartons, Met Pet Cartons, Corrugated Boxes (3Ply,5Ply,7Ply etc), Laminated Pouches, Gusseted Pouches, Spout Pouches, Laminated Sachet Pouches, PP Woven Sacks, HDPE Woven Sacks, Jute Bags, HDPE Jars, PET Bottles & Jars, PP Jars, Glass Jars,Caps and closers, Lami tubes, Coex Tubes, Dip Cup laminates. Paper foil structure pouches. PP Stickers, Chromo Art Sticker, PP Stickers, BOPP Tapes, PVC Shrink & LDPE Shrink Film procurement, Barcode Sticker and PP Strapping procurement etc.
• Responsible for identifying opportunities for packaging development.
• Experience in Paper, gumming sheets and printing quality/digital Printing/offset printing/ flexo printing
• Follow up with supplier for PO material delivery
• New supplier sourcing / R&D / rate negotiation
• Co-ordination with marketing team / packing material store team
• Compare & evaluate offers from suppliers.
• Track orders & ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information & invoices.
• Timely Processing Indents and arrange Materials/Spares within the lead-time.
• Inventory Control & Management.
• Vendor Development & Management.
• Cost reduction & Process Adherence.
• Effective maintenance of Stores, Records/Registers & regular updating the data

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven work experience as a Purchasing or similar role
• Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
• Hands-on experience in Packaging material Purchase is a must
• Understanding of supply chain procedures
• Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
• Negotiation skills
• Graduation or BSc in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field
