Job Purpose:

To manage procurement of Raw Materials (CR/HR coils, sheets, Hardware, packaging Items), Bought-Out Parts (BOP), and Capital Items for sheet metal manufacturing, ensuring export-quality compliance, cost competitiveness, supplier development, and effective inventory control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement & Sourcing:

• Procure sheet metal RM (CR, HR, GI, SS), BOP, fasteners, consumables, and packaging material
• Ensure material availability as per production plans and export schedules
• Coordinate with PPC, production, quality, and logistics teams

• Supplier Development & Management:

• Develop and manage vendors for automobile-grade materials and components
• Conduct supplier audits as per IATF 16949 and customer requirements
• Monitor supplier quality, delivery, and cost performance

• Cost Control & Negotiation:

• Lead commercial negotiations and annual rate contracts
• Drive cost reduction, VA/VE, and localization initiatives
• Track steel price trends and impact on costing

• Inventory & Stock Management:

• Control inventory through Min-Max, safety stock, and lead-time planning
• Reduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving stock
• Support physical stock verification and reconciliation

• SAP / ERP Operations:

• PR, PO, GRN processing in SAP (MM Module)
• Vendor & Material Master Maintenance
• Tracking open POs, delivery schedules, and invoice matching

• Capital Items & Tooling:

• Procurement of machinery, tools, dies, fixtures, and jigs
• CAPEX coordination with engineering and maintenance
• Follow-up for installation, commissioning, and documentation

• Export, Quality & Compliance:

• Ensure materials meet export customer standards and drawings
• Maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer audits
• Handle documentation for traceability, COA, test certificates

• Coordination & MIS:

• Daily coordination with internal stakeholders
• Preparation of purchase MIS, inventory reports, and cost analysis

• Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of sheet metal procurement
• Supplier negotiation & development
• SAP expertise
• Inventory and cost control
• Communication and problem-solving skills

• Qualifications & Experience:

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma (Mechanical/Production) or MBA (Supply Chain)
• 5–8 years experience in automobile or export-oriented manufacturing
