Job Title: Quality Manager

Department:

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage all quality functions, ensuring that products meet the required standards of quality, reliability, and performance across sheet metal, casting, welding, and press shop operations. The role involves implementing robust quality systems, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain the

  Quality Management System (QMS)

  in line with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards.
• Oversee

  incoming, in-process, and final inspection

  processes for sheet metal components, welded assemblies, casting parts, and press shop products.
• Conduct

  root cause analysis (RCA)

  and implement

  corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)

  for internal rejections and customer complaints.
• Lead

  PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC

  documentation and submissions.
• Monitor and improve

  process capability (Cp, Cpk)

  across key operations casting, welding, machining, and press shop.
• Coordinate

  supplier quality audits

  and monitor supplier performance for raw material and casting parts.
• Manage

  customer quality communication

  , including audits, feedback handling, and complaint resolution (8D reporting).
• Ensure adherence to

  welding quality standards (WPS, PQR)

  and inspection procedures.
• Drive

  continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Lean, Six Sigma)

  to reduce defects and improve process efficiency.
• Conduct

  internal quality audits

  , prepare audit reports, and ensure timely closure of NCs (Non-Conformities).
• Ensure calibration of all measuring instruments and gauges as per the calibration schedule.
• Train and guide quality engineers, inspectors, and operators on quality standards and best practices.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of

  sheet metal fabrication, casting process, welding, and press shop operations

  .
• Expertise in

  APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D problem-solving tools

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  ISO 9001 / IATF 16949

  systems.
• Ability to interpret

  engineering drawings, GD&T, and material specifications

  .
• Good knowledge of

  measuring instruments

  and

  CMM

  operation preferred.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Qualification & Experience:

• Qualification:

  M.Tech/ B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering.

• Experience:

  Minimum

  812 years

  in Quality Control/Assurance in a

  Sheet Metal / Mechanical Components / Casting Industry

  , with exposure to

  welding and press shop

  operations.
