Job Description

Job Title: Quality Head

  • Establish and implement the quality strategy for the organization.
  • Develop and enforce quality policies, SOPs, and standards.
  • Lead the QA/QC teams and ensure alignment with company objectives.

2. Quality Control (In-Process & Final)

  • Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
  • Ensure proper sampling, testing, and documentation as per control plans.
  • Monitor dimensional accuracy, aesthetic quality, and functional performance of moulded parts.

3. Quality Assurance & Systems Management

  • Maintain and improve ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 or relevant standards.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements (CSR).
  • Conduct internal audits, gap analysis, and corrective actions.

4. Customer Quality Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for customer quality concerns and audits.
  • Handle customer complaints (8D, CAPA, RCA) and ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct customer visits, quality reviews, and provide necessary reports.

5. Supplier Quality Management

  • Evaluate and qualify vendors for raw materials, components, and moulds.
  • Manage incoming material quality and drive supplier improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate supplier audits and quality agreements.

6. Moulding Quality & Technical Support

  • Support production in troubleshooting moulding defects (flash, sink marks, short shots, warpage, flow lines, etc.).
  • Ensure proper validation of new mould trials (T0, T1, T2).
  • Review mould design, process parameters, and CTQ/CTP characteristics.

7. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain control plans, inspection standards, FMEA, PPAP, APQP documents.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly quality performance reports.
  • Track rejection rates, customer PPM, and internal scrap levels.

8. Team Management & Training

  • Lead, train, and motivate QC inspectors, QA engineers, and technicians.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on quality tools and standards.
  • Build a culture of quality, discipline, and continuous improvement.

9. Continuous Improvement

  • Implement Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Reduce rejections, rework, and warranty/return issues.
  • Improve overall product quality and process capability (CP, CPK).

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Plastics, Polymer Engineering, or related field.
  • CIPET qualification preferred.
  • Certifications in ISO/IATF systems are an advantage.

Experience

  • 815+ years of experience in quality management in a plastic moulding company.
  • Minimum 35 years in a senior managerial or department head role.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of plastic injection moulding processes.
  • Expertise in QA tools: 8D, CAPA, RCA, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, APQP.
  • Understanding of GD&T, measuring instruments, and CMM reports.
  • Ability to handle customer audits and documentation.
