Job Description

Position Overview

The Assistant Project Manager - Civil & Interior supports the delivery of commercial real estate construction and renovation projects, working closely with senior project management staff to ensure successful project execution from initiation through completion. This role combines technical expertise in civil and interior construction with strong project coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

Project Support & Coordination

  • Assist in managing multiple civil and interior construction projects simultaneously
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and correspondence

Civil & Interior Expertise

  • Review architectural and engineering drawings for civil and interior work
  • Assist in contractor selection and procurement processes
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Support quality control and assurance activities

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Participate in client meetings and project status updates
  • Coordinate with internal teams including leasing, facilities management, and finance
  • Manage relationships with external consultants and contractors
  • Assist in addressing project issues and change management

Administrative & Reporting

  • Maintain project files, permits, and regulatory documentation
  • Prepare progress reports, budget tracking, and variance analysis
  • Support invoicing processes and payment approvals
  • Update project management systems and databases

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor''s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • 5 years + of experience in construction project management or related field
  • Experience with both civil infrastructure and interior construction projects preferred

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems
  • Understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and permit processes
