About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented U.S. Tax Reviewer (Assistant Manager) to join our growing U.S. Tax practice. The ideal professional will be responsible for the preparation and first-level review of complex U.S. federal and state tax returns, managing client deliverables, and guiding junior team members. This role requires strong technical knowledge of U.S. tax laws and hands-on experience working across various entity types including corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review U.S. federal and state tax returns for Corporations (Form 1120), S Corporations (Form 1120S), and Partnerships (Form 1065).
• Review trial balances, perform rollovers, and validate data accuracy.
• Analyse financial statements and supporting workpapers for tax compliance and correctness.
• Identify potential tax issues and provide solutions during the preparation process.
• Conduct technical tax research and apply U.S. tax law to client-specific situations.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams to obtain missing or additional information.
• Supervise, train, and review the work of junior tax preparers; provide mentoring and feedback.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all tax filings in line with internal and client deadlines.
• Contribute to process improvements and client onboarding initiatives.
• Stay updated on U.S. federal and state tax regulations and communicate key changes to the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in U.S. tax preparation and review.
• Strong understanding of U.S. tax concepts for Corporations and Partnerships.
• Proficiency with major U.S. tax software such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or Drake.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, deadline-driven, and virtual team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA, EA, or actively pursuing certification.
• Experience with International Tax Forms (5471, 8865, etc.) is a plus.
• Prior experience working with U.S. CPA firms or offshore tax delivery teams.
• Exposure to tax workflow management tools and cloud-based platforms.
