Assistant Manager – Product Development

Department: Product Development

Reporting To: Product Development Manager / R&D Head

Role Summary

The Assistant Manager – Product Development will support end-to-end development of bioprocessing, medical device, and single-use products from concept to commercialisation. The role ensures technical feasibility, regulatory compliance, quality standards, and cost effectiveness while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support new product development (NPD), prototyping, and design optimisation




• Translate market, customer, and regulatory requirements into technical specifications




• Coordinate with R&D, manufacturing, QA/RA, sourcing, and marketing teams




• Prepare, review, and maintain Design History File (DHF), design controls, and technical documentation




• Support product testing, verification, validation, and process qualification activities




• Assist in BOM preparation, cost optimisation, and project tracking




• Support customer technical discussions, audits, and product customisation requests




• Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO 13485, QMS, and applicable regulatory standards




• Support technology transfer from development to manufacturing

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, or related discipline




• Experience in bioprocessing, medical devices, or single-use systems preferred




• Knowledge of bioreactors, polymers, tubing, connectors, sterile assemblies, and disposable systems




• Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills




• Ability to work cross-functionally in a regulated environment
