Assistant Manager

Job Title: Assistant Manager Purchase

Role Purpose

Responsible for end-to-end procurement of mechanical and service-related materials, ensuring timely availability, cost efficiency, inventory control, and compliance with internal processes using SAP.

Key Responsibilities

1. Release monthly and weekly schedules for all suppliers as per the plan.
2. Procure all mechanical-related commodities, including raw materials, MRO, AMC’s,Capex, safety items, fasteners, machining components, maintenance items, and consumables.
3. Manage purchase requisitions and orders for sales and BOM items.
4. Evaluate supplier offers,conduct negotiations, provide recommendations that meet project expectations, and issue purchase orders using SAP.
5. Review and short-close old purchase orders in SAP.
6. Investigate discrepancies between physical inventories and system records.
7. Review records of materials,equipment, products, or services ordered and received.
8. Ensure all service purchase orders are placed in accordance with invoices.
9. Conduct daily reviews of material inward and pending material.
10. Maintain stock for critical and long lead-time items with approval from higher authorities.

• SAP (MM module) hands-on experience
• Negotiation and cost optimization skills
• Inventory control and reconciliation
• Coordination with internal stakeholders and suppliers

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical/Production) or Supply Chain/Materials Management; MBA/PG Diploma preferred.
• 6–8 years’ experience in procurement/purchase/SCM, preferably in manufacturing/industrial setups.
• Hands-on SAP experience, vendor management, and inventory control.
