Role Overview

The Assistant Manager – HR will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations, employee lifecycle management, and compliance with all statutory requirements. The role also includes ensuring legal compliance in areas such as labour laws, employment contracts, Shops & Establishment registrations, and maintaining statutory registrations like Registration Certificates (RC) for business operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Operations & Talent Management

  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle documentation, and induction.
  • Maintain employee master data, contracts, and HRIS system.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs and ensure accurate records of attendance and leave.

2. Statutory Compliance & Legal Licensing

  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws (Factories Act, Payment of Wages, Minimum Wages, Gratuity, Bonus, Maternity Benefits, etc.).
  • Handle registration and renewals under Shops & Establishments Act for all business locations.
  • Maintain Registration Certificates (RCs), labor licenses, and contract labor compliances as per CLRA (Contract Labour Regulation & Abolition Act).

3. Employee Engagement & Grievance Handling

  • Act as a point of contact for employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary issues.
  • Support engagement, recognition, and welfare programs to enhance employee satisfaction.

4. Policy & Process Implementation

  • Ensure company policies are aligned with statutory requirements.
  • Keep management updated on regulatory changes impacting HR and operations.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of labour laws, CLRA, Shops & Establishments Act, and statutory compliances.
  • Experience in handling legal documentation, RC, and contract labor management.
  • Good stakeholder management and liaisoning skills with government authorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS, and compliance management tools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • MBA/PGDM in HR, with additional certification in labour laws preferred.
  • 4–8 years of HR experience with strong exposure to compliance and legal licensing.
  • Experience in hospitality, retail, or multi-location setups will be an added advantage.
