Role Overview

The Fleet Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day fleet operations, driver coordination, vehicle repair management, route optimization, and cost control. The role demands operational expertise, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of logistics and transportation operations to ensure maximum fleet productivity and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage daily operations of fleet vehicles across assigned routes and regions.
  • Coordinate with drivers for trip planning, route optimization, and timely deliveries.
  • Maximize earnings of vehicles by improving load planning, reducing empty runs, and ensuring timely trips.
  • Reduce enroute expenses including fuel, tolls, penalties, and lodging through strategic planning.
  • Oversee vehicle repair and maintenance, ensuring quality service at minimum cost.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and safety standards in all fleet activities.
  • Maintain records of vehicle usage, mileage, fuel consumption, and driver performance.
  • Generate and analyze daily MIS reports and operational dashboards.
  • Liaise with the workshop, vendors, and operations team for smooth coordination and execution.
  • Support in onboarding and orientation of new drivers and training on company policies.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet operations, logistics, or transportation management.
  • Strong knowledge of truck routing, cost reduction strategies, and repair/vendor coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with GPS tracking systems, fleet management software, and MS Excel.
  • Good understanding of vehicle utilization, fuel efficiency techniques, and enroute controls.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for driver and vendor coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management graduate.
  • Exposure to large fleet operations in logistics/transportation industry is preferred.
