About the role

Pitching is the primary responsibility of the Business Development Team. The team provides end to end solutions for a pursuit in partnership with the business based on processes, criteria, and strategic priorities of the firm.

Your role will also include supporting the Infrastructure & Airports Sector head of the business while working in partnership with the various business groups and sales leaders as required. In addition, you may also be asked to support the planning and carrying out of business development activities such as:

  • Accompanying the Infrastructure & Airports Sector Head to networking events and prospective client meetings
  • Carrying out hunt for new clients for the sector to bring out bound as well as in bound business leads through network connects/market intel / research/cold calls
  • Managing and tracking communication with prospects and clients pertaining to the sector
  • Developing personal relationships that drive the sectors business development strategies, improve understanding of clients, and ultimately achieve the desired impact on return on investment.
  • Competition mapping and analysis
  • Generate high quality, effective client-facing content and deliverables (primarily presentations and proposals) to assist in winning new business and renewing national and global accounts in the firms portfolio. Capture and catalogue content that will support sales enablement and business development
  • Has working knowledge and experience in own discipline
  • Continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
  • Uses prescribed guidelines or policies to analyse and resolve problems
  • Receives a moderate levels of guidance and direction

Core Skillset

The position calls for a solid foundation in project management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight timelines. This person will support the new business initiative through Request For Information (RFI) and Request For Proposals (RFP) responses, specifically leading local, national bids or a strategic development client, and take responsibility for the end-to-end management of bids, including planning activities. The role will also manage contributions from the business against bid objectives and to deadline.

Detail Oriented

You will ensure adherence to all bid processes and documentation, conduct formatting, proofreading and copy checking, identify bid / proposal process improvements and best practice and use knowledge of competition, processes, clients to bring to light any risks or gaps in the response, solution.

Research Savvy

As part of the Infrastructure & Airports sector, you will be required to conduct regular market research and be responsible for actively contributing to the firms knowledge management system. You will use knowledge of the competition, processes, clients to bring to light any risks or gaps in the response, and solution.

Qualifications

Degree in engineering/architectural discipline is must, while master in Marketing/Business Administration/ Communications/ Real Estate/Project and construction management would be added advantage

Minimum 5 years of experience within a professional services firm in a business development / marketing capacity. Infrastructure / Airports experience is an advantage and not a mandate.
