Assistant Manager

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Procurement & Purchasing

• Handle procurement of

  raw materials (scrap batteries, lead ingots, alloys)

  and plant consumables.
• Source and purchase

  mechanical, electrical, and furnace spares

  used in recycling operations.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
• Prepare and issue

  Purchase Orders (POs)

  as per approved PR/indents.

2. Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers for critical items.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors to ensure reliability.
• Conduct vendor audits and performance evaluations periodically.
• Ensure suppliers comply with

  quality, safety, and environmental standards

3. Negotiation & Cost Control

• Negotiate competitive prices, delivery timelines, and payment terms.
• Analyse cost structures and prepare comparative statements.
• Implement strategies for

  cost savings

  without compromising quality.

4. Inventory & Material Planning

• Coordinate with stores and production teams for

  stock planning

  .
• Track material consumption and maintain optimum inventory levels.
• Reduce slow-moving/obsolete inventory through corrective actions.

5. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain complete procurement documentation: PRs, POs, vendor quotations, GRN follow-up, etc.
• Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and audit requirements.
• Coordinate with accounts for vendor payments and invoice clearance.

6. Market Research

• Monitor market trends for metals, lead, scrap batteries, and industrial items.
• Develop alternate suppliers for critical items to reduce risk.

7. Coordination

• Work closely with

  production, maintenance, stores, accounts, and logistics

  teams.
• Ensure timely material delivery by coordinating with transporters and vendors.
