Assistant General Counsel

You will be joining Nasdaq's Legal, Regulatory & Risk group as an Assistant General Counsel. In this role, you will be a part of the global legal team located in North America, Europe, and Asia, supporting businesses worldwide. Your main responsibilities will include: - Leading a team of attorneys in Mumbai to handle Nasdaq's enterprise commercial client and procurement agreements. This involves drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating various agreements such as SaaS client and vendor agreements, licensing agreements, NDAs, and sponsorship and events. - Handling more complex drafting, review, analysis, and negotiations autonomously. - Collaborating with sales, operations, and product teams to ensure company objectives are met. - Providing legal mentorship and support to internal businesses and operations globally, offering licensing, technology, and commercial legal advice. - Staying updated on regulations affecting Nasdaq's products and services. - Representing the company's positions in commercial matters independently. Qualifications required for this role: - Minimum 12+ years of experience, preferably from a top law firm or in-house. - Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements. - Experience in leading a team of attorneys and legal professionals. - Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with teams across multiple regions. - Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple projects and clients. - Education Qualification: Bachelor of Law Desired qualifications include: - Experience in training junior team members. - Understanding of legal and business aspects of licensing data, including various products and services. - Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts for complex commercial transactions. - Knowledge of intellectual property and data privacy/data security. - Experience working within a contract lifecycle management platform, preferably Conga.
