About the Project:

We are producing a documentary biography of a legendary singer, exploring their life, career, and impact on popular culture. We're seeking an skilled Assistant Editor to join our team and help shape this compelling story.

Responsibilities:

•⁠ ⁠Assist the Lead Editor in assembling the narrative, using archival footage, interviews, and other visual elements

•⁠ ⁠Review and organize extensive archival footage, ensuring accurate logging and metadata entry

•⁠ ⁠Collaborate with the Director to understand their vision and implement their creative decisions

•⁠ ⁠Work closely with the editorial team to develop the documentary's structure, pacing, and tone

•⁠ ⁠Ensure consistency in style, tone, and quality throughout the edit

•⁠ ⁠Meet deadlines, manage time, and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth project delivery

Requirements:

•⁠ ⁠2+ years of experience in editing documentaries, non-fiction films, or similar content

•⁠ ⁠Proficiency in English is a must (written and spoken)

•⁠ ⁠Knowledge of pop culture, music, and history will be an add on.

•⁠ ⁠Excellent editing skills, with experience in assembling complex narratives

•⁠ ⁠Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, with ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

•⁠ ⁠Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail

•⁠ ⁠Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

•⁠ ⁠Flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Good to Have:

•⁠ ⁠Experience with archival footage research and clearance

•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with documentary filmmaking styles and techniques
