Job Description

As the Assistant Director of Catering Sales at The Westin Mumbai Garden City, you will function as the business leader of the property's Catering Sales Department. Your primary responsibilities will include managing both the reactive and proactive catering sales efforts to achieve revenue goals, guest and associate satisfaction, and enhance the financial performance of the department. You will be instrumental in implementing the brand's service strategy and relevant brand initiatives throughout the sales process. Leading a team of on-property catering sales associates, you will work closely with key stakeholders within Area Sales to receive warm leads for detailed business qualification. Collaborating with Event Management and hotel operations, you will promote and sell products and services that the hotel can successfully execute. Ensuring a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales, you will consistently deliver a high level of service while maximizing revenue opportunities through up-selling and accurate forecasting for all events. To qualify for this role, you must possess a 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, along with 4 years of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 4-year bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 2 years of experience will also be considered. A 4-year college degree is preferred for this position. In your capacity as Assistant Director of Catering Sales, you will manage various sales activities including local and group/convention business, develop catering sales revenue and operation budgets, and create forecasting reports. Working in tandem with the management team, you will design and execute a catering sales/marketing plan to address revenue, customers, and the market. Additionally, you will actively engage in building successful relationships with guests/clients, sales and kitchen staff, vendors, competitors, and other hotel departments to monitor guest satisfaction and drive customer loyalty. As a leader within the organization, you will direct the on-property catering sales managers to achieve hotel revenue goals by targeting current and new high-value accounts in the market. Collaborating with Human Resources, you will attract, develop, and retain talented individuals to support the strategic priorities of the market. By setting clear goals and expectations for your team, you will ensure alignment with the Leadership Performance Process and address any performance issues effectively.
