Assistant / Deputy Manager - Production

Job Purpose:

To plan, organize, and manage all production activities within the knits manufacturing unit to ensure on-time delivery, cost efficiency, quality compliance, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Control

• Develop and implement production plans in coordination with the Supply Chain Team
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
• Monitor daily production performance against targets and take corrective actions as needed.

2. Operations Management

• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Maintain process control and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

3. Quality & Compliance

• Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to maintain product quality as per buyer standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety, social, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a culture of zero-defect manufacturing and implement root-cause analysis for recurring issues.

4. Team Management

• Lead and manage a team of production supervisors, line leaders, and operators.
• Train, motivate, and evaluate team performance to enhance productivity.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination among departments (maintenance, quality, planning, etc.).

5. Cost & Resource Management

• Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• Ensure optimum use of raw materials and minimize wastage.
• Support management in budgeting, capacity planning, and efficiency analysis

Qualifications & Experience:

• BE/B Tech/ Dip. in Textile Engineering / Garment Technology / Industrial Engineering (preferred).
• 8 to 12 years of experience in production management within a

  Knitwear manufacturing

  environment.
