Job Description

Role Summary

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving product sales in the Pune region for the Sales_Dextra division. They will manage territory achievement, distributor relations, and ensure product availability and visibility.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve sales targets (volume, revenue, margin) in the assigned area
Build and manage relationships with hospitals, clinics, distributors, and other customers
Identify new business opportunities and develop leads
Ensure optimal product coverage, visibility, and replenishment
Coordinate with marketing for promotional campaigns, events, product demonstrations
Provide product training to sales staff and customers
Monitor competitor activity and market trends
Prepare periodic territory sales forecasts, budgets, and reporting
Resolve customer complaints and escalate issues
Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory norms, and ethical standards

Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelors degree (Sales / Business / Science)
3-6 years of experience in medical device / healthcare / surgical / diagnostics sales, preferably in the region
Proven track record of meeting / exceeding sales targets
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Ability to travel extensively within area
Knowledge of hospital procurement processes, tendering, stakeholders

Growth in new accounts / territory expansion
Order fulfillment / on-time delivery
Distributor / partner performance metrics
Customer satisfaction / repeat business

Reporting & Stakeholders

Reports to Regional / Zonal Sales Manager
