Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The Area Credit Manager (ACM) for Micro LAP Loans is responsible for managing credit underwriting, risk assessment, and portfolio quality across a defined geographic area. This role ensures that loan applications are evaluated accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Credit Assessment & Underwriting

  • Evaluate and approve/recommend Micro LAP loan applications based on creditworthiness, income assessment, and property valuation.
  • Ensure thorough due diligence and adherence to credit policies.
  • Maintain turnaround time (TAT) for credit decisions to support business growth.

Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate risks in loan proposals through detailed analysis of customer profiles, financials, and market conditions.
  • Monitor early warning signals and take proactive steps to prevent portfolio deterioration.
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk frameworks and regulatory norms.

Portfolio Quality & Monitoring

  • Track portfolio performance across branches within the area.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of disbursed cases to ensure documentation and field verification accuracy.
  • Support collections and recovery teams in managing delinquent accounts.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Legal, and Technical teams to ensure smooth end-to-end processing.
  • Provide feedback and training to sales teams on credit norms and documentation quality.
  • Liaise with regional and central credit teams for policy updates and escalations.

Process Compliance & Audit Readiness

  • Ensure complete documentation and adherence to KYC, AML, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain audit-ready records and support internal/external audits.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance credit efficiency and reduce errors.

Team Management & Training

  • Guide and mentor credit officers or field verification executives within the area.
  • Conduct training sessions on credit policies, fraud detection, and underwriting standards.
  • Foster a culture of compliance, accuracy, and accountability

Preferred candidate profile

Min 10 Year of experience in Credit Underwriting.

Min 2 Years of experience in team handling.

Must have experience working in NBFC and Micro LAP.

Cibil Score must be above 700.
