Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Oversee the lifecycle of healthcare applications, from selection and implementation to maintenance and retirement.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop an application roadmap that aligns with business and clinical objectives.
  • Ensure interoperability and integration between various healthcare systems and third-party applications.
  • Lead and mentor a team of application analysts, specialists, and administrators.
  • Manage workload distribution, performance reviews, and staff development.
  • Establish and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) for application support.
  • Manage deployment and upgrades of clinical and enterprise applications (EHR, ERP, HIS, etc.).
  • Coordinate with vendors and consultants for project delivery, configuration, and customization.
  • Ensure system availability, reliability, and performance through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
  • Ensure all applications comply with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR, and other relevant standards.
  • Maintain proper data governance, access control, and change management protocols.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to mitigate application-related risks.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience managing healthcare applications or IT systems.
  • 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong background with systems such as Kranium, myHealth, Akhil , Meditech, Oracle Health, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in healthcare data integration, HL7/FHIR standards, and interoperability frameworks.
  • Strong project management and vendor management skills.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in ITIL, Agile, or similar service management frameworks.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution.
