Must Have Skills:

• 5 to 7 years of hands-on backend development experience using

  Node.js

  and

  JavaScript

• Strong experience leading end-to-end

  backend architecture and development

• Proficiency in

  Fastify

  framework (or Express.js with willingness to learn Fastify)
• Solid understanding of

  Redis

  (caching, pub/sub, job queues)
• Strong SQL expertise with

  PostgreSQL

  including query optimization
• Experience integrating and working with

  API Gateways

  (AWS API Gateway, NGINX)
• Experience with centralized logging using

  Elastic Logs / ELK stack

• Experience deploying applications on

  Linux-based Virtual Machines (VMs)

• Strong understanding of

  RESTful API design

  , authentication, authorization, and versioning
• Experience with

  Git

  ,

  CI/CD pipelines

  , and basic understanding of

  Docker

• Hands-on experience conducting code reviews and enforcing best practices
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent field
• 7–10 years of backend development experience with strong Node.js expertise
• Experience in designing scalable, reliable, and highly performant backend systems
• Strong leadership capabilities guiding engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing backend teams or acting as a technical lead
• Expertise in performance tuning, caching strategies, and distributed system design
• Strong understanding of system reliability, monitoring, and observability
• Experience maintaining long-term client relationships with proactive communication
• Familiarity with containerization and cloud deployment workflows

Responsibilities:

• Lead backend design, architecture, and development using Node.js
• Act as a hands-on technical leader, mentoring and guiding junior engineers
• Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure best practices
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable backend services
• Manage API integrations, gateway configurations, and system-level deployments
• Maintain accurate documentation for backend processes and architecture
• Ensure reliability, security, and maintainability across all backend services
