Description
As a skilled and experienced MLRO / Compliance Officer, your role will be crucial in overseeing and managing the company's anti-money laundering and compliance programs. You will be the very first MLRO/CO in UAE, working independently but in collaboration with colleagues across the globe in various functional areas. Your primary responsibility will involve developing and implementing comprehensive anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance programs that adhere to regulatory requirements in multiple countries, including the UAE, Poland, Canada, and the USA. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing and implementing anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices in various jurisdictions - Serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate communication and reporting on compliance-related issues - Monitoring changes in AML and compliance regulations, providing guidance and recommendations to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations - Conducting regular risk assessments and audits to identify areas of non-compliance, implementing corrective measures to mitigate financial risks effectively - Providing training and guidance to employees on AML and compliance matters, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability - Staying informed about global regulatory developments and driving continuous improvement in compliance practices - Assisting in the creation, maintenance, and review of policies, procedures, and controls to manage regulatory risk - Updating investment and disclosure documentation in line with regulatory and business changes - Preparing board and compliance reports, maintaining VARA records, and assisting with regulator correspondence and reporting - Investigating breaches and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and improvement in the control environment - Managing the complaint handling process and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external parties Qualifications required for this role: - 7+ years of relevant experience in a legal or compliance role with substantial knowledge of relevant rules and regulations - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Finance, or a related field; relevant compliance certification is a plus - UAE VARA/ ADGM Compliance experience is a strong plus; exposure to cryptocurrency trading and exchanges is advantageous - Professional certifications such as RG146 - Experience in a compliance role focusing on anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and global compliance requirements - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders - Proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Please note that Zamp is on a mission to revolutionize the way the world does finance.
