About the role:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Android Engineer to join our growing mobile development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing high-performance, scalable, and user-friendly Android applications.

As an Android Engineer at Gabit, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to build and maintain Gabit’s applications that aim to provide an exceptional user experience.

What your day would look like:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and performant Android applications
• Work closely with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and Backend Engineers to define features, gather requirements, and deliver solutions
• Debug and resolve issues in existing apps, optimize performance, and ensure application stability across various Android devices and OS versions
• Implement unit tests, UI tests, and integration tests to ensure the app’s functionality and reliability
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies, and contribute to improving the overall development process
• Collaborate with the team on version control, branching strategies, and deployment pipelines
• Work with the team to release Android applications to the Google Play Store, ensuring compliance with app store guidelines

Say hello if you’ve got:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 2 to 4 years of professional experience in Android development with a proven track record of building and deploying apps
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java, along with knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, and development tools
• Solid understanding of MVVM, MVP, or MVC architecture patterns and familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party libraries (e.g., Retrofit, OkHttp)
• Knowledge of UI/UX principles for mobile applications and Material Design guidelines
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a team player with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
