Job Description:

Hooqx is seeking a talented and experienced Android Developer with 3–4 years of proven experience to join our team in Salt Lake, Sector V, Kolkata. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications, ensuring strong performance, responsiveness, and excellent user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, backend developers, QA) to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following best practices.
• Ensure applications are optimized for performance, usability, and scalability.
• Identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and improve application stability.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Maintain proper documentation of the development process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in Android application development.
• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin for Android development.
• Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, and Gradle.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party libraries.
• Experience with UI/UX design principles and Material Design guidelines.
• Knowledge of SQLite / Room Database and database management.
• Familiarity with Firebase, Push Notifications, and Google APIs.
• Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub/Bitbucket).
• Good understanding of OOP concepts, MVC/MVVM architecture, and design patterns.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

• Experience with unit testing and automation testing tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of React Native or Flutter (cross-platform experience is a plus).
• Understanding of security best practices for mobile applications.
