Anaesthesia Technician

An anesthesia technician assists anesthesiologists and other medical staff in preparing, maintaining, and monitoring equipment and supplies for anesthesia procedures. They play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety during surgical procedures by monitoring vital signs and providing support during anesthesia administration. 
Key Responsibilities:    Equipment Preparation and Maintenance:    Anesthesia technicians prepare anesthesia machines, check gas tanks, sterilize equipment, and ensure all necessary supplies are available before, during, and after procedures. Patient Monitoring:They monitor vital signs like heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation during anesthesia, communicating any changes to the medical team. Assisting with Anesthesia Administration:They may assist with tasks like intubation, ventilation, and administering medications, as directed by the anesthesiologist. Post-Operative Care:Anesthesia technicians may assist with the patient's emergence from anesthesia, removing airway devices, and transferring them to post-operative care units. Maintaining a Safe Environment:They ensure the operating room is a safe environment by monitoring for leaks of medical gases and maintaining proper infection control protocols. Inventory Management:They may manage the inventory of anesthesia supplies, ensuring adequate stock is available. Troubleshooting Equipment:Anesthesia technicians are trained to identify and troubleshoot malfunctions with anesthesia equipment. Communication and Collaboration:They communicate effectively with patients, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team.
