Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Department:

Key Areas of Accountability / Responsibilities

Sheet Metal & Fabrication Procurement
Procurement experience in Sheet Metal Parts, Steel Stamping, Bending, Laser Cutting, Welding, Fabrication, CED & Job Work activities
Vendor development & performance monitoring (domestic & import)
Import Supply Chain Management
End-to-end import supply chain coordination, clearance, documentation & tracking
Plant Procurement & Inventory Management
Procurement of Consumables & BOC
Inventory analysis & inventory control
Material planning & cost optimization
Commercial & MIS
Strong costing & negotiation skills
MIS & reports preparation, reconciliation of commercials & final invoicing
Capex procurement experience
Cross-functional Coordination
Close coordination with Production, Logistics, Finance & other internal departments
CFT member approach; team management & training support to Purchase Manager
Systems & Compliance
SAP / ERP & MS Office proficiency
PO / Contract documentation consistency & audit compliance

Role Complexity

Balance
long-term strategic purchase planning
with immediate operational requirements
Manage
multiple suppliers across regions
with different lead times & pricing
Handle
market fluctuations, supply chain risks & disruptions
Ensure
import/export & GST compliance
High-stakes supplier negotiations
Maintain strong
supplier relationships
& performance metrics
Participate in
conflict resolution, workload distribution & performance reviews

Qualification & Experience

Education:
BE / DME / MBA
Experience:
8 12 years in procurement for manufacturing (preferably sheet metal / fabrication from Automotive industry)
