Alation Data Governance Manager

1. Alation Data Quality (DQ):
Conduct data quality assessments using Alation DQ.Implement data quality frameworks and remediation activities.Perform data profiling, enrichment, and validation across key domains.Define and track data quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.2. Alation Data Governance:Develop and maintain a data governance framework (operating model, policies, standards, business glossary, controls).Facilitate governance forums, data domain councils, and change advisory boards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure governance practices are integrated into business processes.3. Data Cataloging & Lineage:Manage data cataloging using Alation to enhance visibility of enterprise data assets.Establish and maintain data lineage to trace data origins and transformations.Maintain documentation on data definitions, usage, and metadata.4. Master Data Functional Expertise:Demonstrate deep understanding of master data structures including:Supplier/VendorCustomerGeneral Ledger (GL) AccountsCost CenterProfit CenterKnowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and JD Edwards is essential.5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:Work closely with IT, data management teams, business leads, data owners, and data stewards.Coordinate with pillar leads to align on policies related to data privacy, lifecycle, and quality.Engage stakeholders to ensure adoption and compliance with governance practices.6. Monitoring & Reporting:Monitor data governance activities and progress.Report key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to senior management.7. Training & Awareness:Conduct training sessions and awareness campaigns to promote data governance, stewardship, and data quality.Required Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience in Alation Data Governance and Data Quality tools.Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, operating models, and business glossaries.Experience in data cataloging and data lineage management.Functional knowledge of ERP master data (Supplier, Customer, GL, Cost Center, Profit Center).Proficient in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, QlikView).Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
