Janaagraha is looking for a Senior Associate Social Media, Content, and Communication who will lead our digital presence and storytelling across social media platforms while supporting the Communication team in creating compelling content for various channels. The Senior Associate must have strong expertise in social media strategy and management, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to work independently while mentoring junior team members. They must also be passionate about urban governance and civic engagement, quick to respond to current events with posts and campaigns, and keen to explore new media innovations in communication. KEY RESPONSIBILITES Social Media Management and Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies across Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube to amplify Janaagraha s mission and work. Create engaging social media content including posts, stories, reels, and campaigns that drive audience engagement and community building. Monitor and respond to social media trends/current events, track performance metrics, and provide regular analytics reports with actionable insights. Manage social media calendars, schedule posts, and ensure consistent brand voice across all platforms. Respond to comments, messages, and engage with followers to build an active online community. Collaborate with programme teams to identify and share compelling stories and insights on social media. Content Creation and Communication: Develop content for various products such as emailers, annual reports, social media posts, videos, podcasts, etc. Create and copyedit content for the website and internal publications by liaising with internal programme teams and external partners and vendors. Lead copyediting for reports and papers with minimal supervision. Ensure standardisation of language and tone of voice across all collaterals to ensure brand consistency. Ensure adherence of the Janaagraha brand guidelines across all reports, papers, newsletters, emailers, social media posts, etc. Support programme teams in the development of event-related collaterals (such as invitations, web pages, emailers, etc). Manage vendor relationships for content creation and provide guidance on deliverables. Lead brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development and implementation of Janaagraha s communication strategy. Mentor and guide junior team members on content creation and social media best practices. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE A Post Graduate/Graduate degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, Digital Marketing or the disciplines of Urban Governance and Public Policy is preferred. 4 to 6 years of work experience in communications with at least 2-3 years focused on social media management. Proven track record of managing social media accounts for organisations, preferably in the non-profit or social impact sector. Experience with social media management tools, analytics platforms, and content creation software. KEY COMPETENCIES Exceptional command over language and strong storytelling abilities. Passion for urban governance, public policy, and civic issues, and the ability to translate complex and nuanced content into accessible content. Ability to create visually appealing content and basic graphic design skills. Deep understanding of social media platforms, their algorithms, and best practices for engagement. Strong analytical skills to interpret social media metrics and translate insights into strategy. Excellent project management skills and ability to handle multiple campaigns simultaneously. Must be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines. Leadership qualities and ability to mentor junior team members. Strong understanding of digital communication trends and willingness to experiment with new formats. We are looking for an experienced person who has worked in the area of training and content earlier with a focus on government school systems. The role of the Training Officer is going to be critical in supporting the overall content development, review and the capacity building strategy in the region. Having good command and understanding of working in Ed-Tech programmes will be beneficial. The major task of the person will be to develop training & content for students to build computational skills including coding and design learning experiences for students and teachers. Role Description Training Delivery, Coordination, and Management Lead & support the state anchors on Training & Capacity building of internal & external teams for all states of a cascade program with blended learning approach. Creating training designs, facilitating training of trainers, attending training, giving feedback on training and other program-related aspects and so on. Operational oversight of all capacity building aspects of different projects across the states: MCT, Skills build such as conduction of virtual webinars, weekly/fortnightly catch ups with the teams. The Urban Capacities Program at Janaagraha is focused on enhancing the staffing capability and capacity of city governments across India. Through strategic interventions in goal setting, competency management, process optimization, and performance management, the Urban Capacities Program (also referred to Human Resource (HR) and Organization Development (OD) reforms for govt.) aims to build institutional muscle and memory in municipal governance. We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and competent professional from the development sector to serve as Senior Manager Urban Capacities. This position reports to the Chief Policy and Insights Officer at Janaagraha. KEY RESPONSIBILITES The Associate Director Urban Capacities will lead Janaagraha s efforts to drive systemic HR and institutional reforms within municipal governance as part of the State Capacities work A. Thought Leadership Track and OD team strategic view: To develop the HR-OD part of State Capacities strand of work at Janaagraha comprehensively, currently in the following three buckets: HR reforms, OD reforms, MSSC ideas: HR reforms: Development of dynamic Staffing Model for ULGs and recommendations for right-sizing efforts OD reforms: From goal-setting, cascading, competency management, training, link to performance management in ULGs MSSC ideas: Developing Municipal Shared Services concept beyond current frame with 15 th FC and MoHUA Conduct necessary research and studies for the above and lay out pathways for our work over the next 3-5 years Build a core team for research and developing templates for work strands in States (see Operational Track) Developing knowledge products and publishing writing thought leadership pieces (policy briefs, op-eds, concept notes, etc.) on the above areas Help to secure funding for comprehensive work or for individual parts (incl. Proven expertise in program strategy, policy design, and large-scale government engagement. Strong understanding of urban development governance and/or municipal HR and capacity building models, and/or HRMS and LMS frameworks would be added advantage. Experience in budget management, performance tracking, and impact measurement. Ability to navigate complex government structures and drive institutional change. KEY COMPETENCIES Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, fostering a culture of excellence and impact. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior government officials and donor agencies. Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex policy issues into actionable insights.
