Job Description

Airport Ground Staff are responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of airport services. They assist passengers, handle baggage, coordinate aircraft services, and support overall airport operations to ensure a positive travel experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Passenger Handling

  • Assist passengers during check-in, boarding, and deplaning.
  • Verify travel documents, issue boarding passes, and manage seat assignments.
  • Provide special assistance to elderly passengers, unaccompanied minors, and persons with reduced mobility.
  • Handle passenger inquiries, complaints, and travel-related concerns.

2. Baggage & Cargo Operations

  • Tag, handle, and sort passenger baggage.
  • Ensure safe loading and unloading of baggage and cargo.
  • Coordinate with security teams for baggage screening.
  • Manage lost and found baggage processes.

3. Flight Coordination

  • Communicate with pilots, cabin crew, and airline operations teams.
  • Monitor flight schedules, delays, and gate changes.
  • Assist with aircraft marshaling, parking guidance, and ramp safety procedures.
  • Ensure timely dispatch and turnaround of aircraft.

4. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow aviation safety regulations, security protocols, and airport SOPs.
  • Conduct safety checks on equipment and ramp areas.
  • Ensure compliance with airline and airport regulatory standards.

5. Customer Service

  • Provide accurate information on flights, gates, delays, and airport services.
  • Maintain professionalism and handle difficult situations calmly.
  • Assist passengers with baggage issues, rebooking, and general support.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency (check-in systems, airline software).
  • Physical fitness for lifting baggage and working on the ramp.
  • Problem-solving and customer-handling skills.
  • Flexibility for shift work, weekends, and holidays.

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (12th pass minimum).
  • Diploma or certification in aviation, hospitality, or customer service (preferred).
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
