Job Summary: The MEP Lead / Manager will be responsible for overall planning, execution, quality control, and coordination of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in a commercial high-rise IT tower project. The role includes managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with applicable Indian and international standards, and delivering systems that meet the latest sustainability and smart building requirements. Key Responsibilities: Design & Planning Review and approve MEP design drawings, shop drawings, and coordinated layouts. Ensure designs comply with local codes (e.g., NBC, ECBC) and international standards. Coordinate with architects, structural, and interior design teams for seamless system integration. Evaluate and implement value engineering options to optimize cost and performance. Execution & Supervision Oversee installation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV, BMS, and other critical MEP services. Testing, Commissioning & Handover Prepare and manage detailed testing and commissioning plans for all MEP systems. Oversee functional testing, system integration, and final acceptance tests. Ensure proper documentation, including O&M manuals and as-built drawings, are handed over to the client. Quality Assurance & Safety Develop and enforce MEP quality assurance and control procedures Conduct regular inspections and audits. Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. Cost & Contract Management Support preparation and control of MEP budgets. Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and manage cost variations. Monitor procurement and ensure timely delivery of long lead items. Sustainability & Smart Systems Oversee implementation of energy-efficient and green building systems (e.g., as per IGBC or LEED requirements). Coordinate smart building solutions, including IoT-based monitoring, intelligent lighting, and advanced BMS. Reporting & Stakeholder Management Provide weekly and monthly progress reports to senior management and clients. Maintain clear communication channels with stakeholders, consultants, and statutory authorities Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred). 12–15+ years of experience managing MEP works in large-scale high-rise commercial projects in India. At least one successfully delivered IT tower or commercial high-rise building project as MEP Lead / Manager. Strong knowledge of local statutory regulations and approval processes.
