Air and Ocean Import Specialist

As an Air and Ocean Import Operations Specialist at D.B. Group, based in Chennai and supporting U.S. operations, you will play a crucial role in managing day-to-day operational activities related to Air and Ocean Import Operations. Your attention to detail, customer service skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will be key to ensuring efficient shipment movements and exceeding customer expectations. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage day-to-day operational activities, including customer inquiries, order processing, shipment tracking, and issue resolution. - Coordinate with overseas offices/agents for approvals and smooth shipment movements. - Ensure accuracy and completeness in information shared with customers. - Liaise with vendors, customers, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of shipments. - Prepare and review shipping documents such as Manifests and Delivery Orders. - Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates to customers. - Deliver excellent customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and addressing complaints. - Oversee vendor invoicing and ensure timely billing. - Maintain accurate records of operational transactions. - Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless workflow. - Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies. - Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement best practices for operational efficiency. **Qualifications Required:** - Minimum 6 years of experience in Air and Ocean freight forwarding or logistics. - Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal). - Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. - Willingness to work late shifts aligned with U.S. operations. - Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and freight-related systems. - Team player with a problem-solving mindset. **Preferred:** - Experience supporting U.S. operations from a shared service setup. - Understanding of shipping documentation like B/L, ISF, Arrival Notices, etc. - Hands-on experience with CargoWise preferred. - Graduate degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field.
