Agricultural Field Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Agricultural Field Officer to oversee crop and farm operations, support farmers with technical guidance, and ensure best practices in agricultural productivity. The role involves extensive fieldwork, monitoring crop progress, advising on pest control, and promoting sustainable farming methods. Key Responsibilities:Conduct regular visits to farms to monitor crops and offer technical support. Assist farmers in adopting modern agricultural practices, including irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and soil conservation. Collect and analyze field data to improve yields and production efficiency. Provide training sessions or demonstrations on new techniques and technologies. Identify crop diseases and pest infestations and recommend treatment plans. Prepare detailed field reports and maintain accurate farm records. Liaise with local authorities, NGOs, and research institutions as needed. Promote climate-resilient farming practices and sustainable agriculture. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in a similar role or agricultural fieldwork preferred. Strong knowledge of crop management, soil science, and pest control. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in rural field conditions. Proficiency in MS Office and data entry tools. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
