Company Description The Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) is an apex trade and investment promotion organization, recognized under India’s Foreign Trade Policy and supported by the Department of Commerce, Government of India. TPCI formulates strategic initiatives to help Indian businesses expand globally by organizing specialized trade shows, B2B platforms, and sector-focused engagements. The council also works closely with the government, offering policy recommendations grounded in data-driven research and extensive stakeholder consultations across diverse sectors, including agriculture and food processing. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site position for an Agricultural Economist based in New Delhi. The role entails conducting high-quality economic research focused on the agriculture and processed food sectors, analyzing relevant policies and market trends, and delivering actionable insights to support trade and investment promotion strategies. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed analytical reports, assessing global market opportunities, and working with industry stakeholders and policymakers to shape policy advocacy and trade facilitation initiatives. Qualifications Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or a related field 3–5 years of relevant experience in agricultural and/or processed food industry research Strong knowledge of agricultural policy, international trade dynamics, and value chain economics Demonstrated expertise in economic research, data analysis, and report writing Proficiency in using statistical and economic modeling tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with government bodies, industry associations, and trade stakeholders Experience working in a trade promotion or policy research organization is a strong plus Show more Show less
