Job Title: Head of Safety (Water Infrastructure Projects)

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (Civil / Mechanical preferred)
• Diploma / Certification in Industrial Safety (recognized by State Technical Board / NEBOSH / IOSH / equivalent)

Position Overview:

• Develop and implement the overall HSE strategy, policies, and systems for water infrastructure projects.
• Lead a team of safety professionals across multiple sites to ensure consistent application of safety protocols.
• Advise senior management on risk management, incident trends, and continuous improvement measures.
• Ensure adherence to national and local safety regulations, client safety requirements, and ISO 45001 standards.
• Develop project-specific HSE Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments (HIRA, JSA, etc.).
• Conduct periodic safety audits, inspections, and reviews at all project sites.
• Oversee accident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
• Design and conduct regular safety training and competency-building programs for employees and workmen.
• Promote safety awareness through campaigns, toolbox talks, and behavioral safety initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of incidents, near-misses, and safety performance metrics.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of water supply, wastewater treatment, and pipeline project safety requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian statutory HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Proven leadership in multi-location project environments.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Background:

• Experience with large EPC / Infra contractors in

  Water Supply, Sewage Treatment, or Water Pipeline Projects

  .
• Exposure to HSE management in government-funded / World Bank / multilateral projects preferred.
• Experience in implementing ISO 14001 and 45001 systems.
