Role Overview

The Accounts Manager will handle the complete accounting function of the company, including daily transactions, banking, bill payments, GST/TDS compliance, financial reporting, and coordination with auditors. The role requires strong knowledge of real estate transaction flow, collections, and monthly closing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain day-to-day accounting entries in Tally/ERP.
  • Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Verify invoices, bills, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
  • Maintain ledger accuracy and track outstanding balances.

2. Banking & Collections

  • Manage banking operations, cheque deposits, online payments, and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with banks for account-related issues.
  • Monitor client payments and follow up for collections.
  • Track receivables for booked properties and ensure timely recovery.

3. Bill Payments & Vendor Management

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely bill payments.
  • Maintain vendor records and resolve payment queries.
  • Verify and validate expense claims from departments.

4. GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance

  • Prepare GST workings, monthly returns and reconciliation.
  • Handle TDS deductions, payments & quarterly returns.
  • Ensure all statutory payments are done on time.
  • Maintain compliance records for audits.

5. MIS & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
  • Track revenue, expenses, outstanding, and collections.
  • Provide financial data to management for decision-making.
  • Monitor project-wise profitability (if applicable).

6. Audit & Finalisation

  • Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors.
  • Prepare schedules and documents for annual audit.
  • Assist in finalizing books of accounts.
  • Support in preparation of Balance Sheet & P&L.

7. Month-End Closing

  • Perform month-end reconciliations for bank, debtors, creditors, GST, TDS, and expenses.
  • Update provisions, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Ensure timely financial closing.

8. Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain internal controls and strengthen accounting processes.
  • Support management with ad-hoc reports.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of financial data.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
  • 4–8 years of experience in accounting (real estate experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, taxation, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP, Excel, and financial reporting.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to handle workload and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in real estate accounting (builder, broker, or channel partner).
  • Understanding of client payment plans, brokerage entries, commission payouts, etc.
  • Handling audits and finalization in a growing organization.
