Job Description

As a Specialist General Ledger Accounting at IHG, your role involves providing accounting support and managing the books of accounts for a group of owned/managed hotels. Your responsibilities include: - Managing financials of a group of hotels with accuracy, including journal preparation/upload, GL review, P&L analysis, trend analysis, month-end close, cash flows, and owner reporting as per agreed SLA. - Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations with proper backup and follow-up to resolve open items timely. - Ensuring accruals/provisions, reclassifications, true-ups are posted in the respective period along with monthly amortization of prepaid expenses. - Independently handling/resolving process-related issues and managing multitasking. - Regularly interacting with various teams across functions, business teams, hotels, and stakeholders. - Coordinating with auditors and providing support in managing queries related to audits. - Managing and stabilizing transitions of new processes ensuring BAU as per agreed timelines. - Assisting the Team Leader or Manager in reviewing MIS reports, improvement initiatives, automation, and driving efficiency. - Working with TL/AM to suggest or identify training needs of new and junior team members, providing guidance and coaching. - Analyzing system reports for accuracy, researching and resolving problems, ensuring data integrity. - Compiling various reports for special studies and projects and managing such initiatives. - Providing accurate reports and data to internal and external customers within assigned timelines. - Being a backup during leaves and assisting other team members during their leaves to ensure all reports and queries are addressed timely. Qualifications required for this role: - Education: B.Com/M.Com/CA/CWA/CFA/MBA (F)/Semi-Qualified in any professional degree - Experience: Minimum of 4 years progressive work-related experience with a strong accounting and/or audit background Technical Skills and Knowledge: - Intermediate level knowledge of PeopleSoft or other enterprise financial systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). - Strong verbal and written English communication skills. - Presentation skills for various level audiences. - Ability to assess, prioritize, and meet timelines for projects including transitions, audits, and continuous process improvement. - Proficiency in recognizing and resolving problems in transactions and systems. - Strong accounting knowledge.,
