We have an exciting opportunity for Variable Interest Entity (VIE) Accounting Professionals on a 6-month contract basis, on behalf of one of our esteemed clients, a global consulting firm. We are particularly seeking candidates who can join immediately for this assignment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Demonstrate a strong understanding of VIE accounting concepts. - Comprehend the dynamics of a group of connected entities and the step-in risk requirement. Step-in risk refers to the risk that a bank may provide financial support to an unconsolidated entity facing stress, even in the absence of any contractual obligations to do so. The new regulations mandate CRR firms and CRR consolidation entities to evaluate their step-in risk. - Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Legal, Business, Risk, and Accounting Policy stakeholders to: - Develop formal documentation that will undergo external scrutiny. - Design and agree upon operating procedures and RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) matrix. - Analyze and investigate the current booking system feeds into the Ledger, and design disclosure templates. - Possess a deep understanding of consolidation, funding structures, and other related frameworks to assess their impact on step-in risk. **Qualifications Required:** - 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in VIE accounting. - Proficiency in coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders. - Strong analytical skills and the ability to design financial documentation. - Knowledge of accounting policies and risk management practices.
