About the Company : We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Dean for Product design (industrial design) to join our team at Chitkara Design School, Chitkara University. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial design and possess exceptional leadership skills to oversee the academic department. About the Role : A short paragraph summarizing the key role responsibilities. Responsibilities : Develop and implement academic programs for Product design (industrial design) that align with the school's mission and vision. Supervise and support faculty members in their teaching practices, research projects, and professional development. Conduct regular evaluations of program curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and stays relevant. Collaborate with other departments within the design school and beyond school to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students. Oversee student recruitment efforts, working closely with the Career advancement service team. Plan department budget and resources effectively for discussion and approvals. Bring industry experts for various academes engagements like teaching, master class, conferences/symposiums, design festivals etc. Hence the candidate should have a strong industry network. Well versed with UGC, NAAC and other processes and documentations. Qualifications : Master's or Ph.D. degree in industrial design. Total 15+ years of experience with minimum of 5 years experience in an academic leadership role within a design school setting. Strong understanding of current trends and developments in the field of industrial design. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and other stakeholders. Show more Show less
