Building rapport with students, establishing trust, and addressing any barriers or challenges that students may encounter are vital aspects of this position. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field, along with 4 to 6 years of experience as an Academic Advisor or in a similar capacity. Strong knowledge of educational programs and courses, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to problem-solve and make informed decisions are essential. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the capability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team are also key attributes we are looking for. Additionally, proficiency in computer skills and student information systems is required. Experience in sales and overseas exposure would be advantageous. Keeping abreast of educational policies and procedures, attending relevant meetings and workshops to enhance counseling skills, and maintaining accurate records of student interactions and progress are integral parts of this role.
