Job Description

Role Summary

  • Manage and supervise all delivery partners across assigned routes.
  • Ensure delivery partners follow SOPs for milk handling, hygiene, crate management, and route execution.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Resolve delivery-related issues such as delays, shortages, product damages, or customer complaints.

2. Hiring & Onboarding Delivery Partners

  • Plan manpower requirement based on route load, peak hours, and business growth.
  • Recruit delivery partners through internal HR, external vendors, and local sourcing.
  • Ensure complete documentation, ID verification, and compliance during onboarding.
  • Conduct training on route familiarization, safe product handling, and customer interaction.

3. Inventory & Crate Management

  • Oversee inventory maintenance at hubs, depots, and distribution points.
  • Ensure accurate daily stock receipts, dispatch, and reconciliation.
  • Monitor crate issuance and return to minimize losses and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with production and warehousing teams to ensure product availability.

4. Attendance & Productivity Tracking

  • Track daily attendance of delivery partners through systems or manual logs.
  • Ensure route assignments are fully staffed and delays due to absenteeism are avoided.
  • Take corrective actions for absenteeism, low productivity, or repeated non-compliance.
  • Maintain attendance MIS and manpower availability dashboard.

5. Achieving 100% On-Time Delivery

  • Strategically plan delivery routes and dispatch schedules to ensure 100% OTD.
  • Monitor real-time route performance and intervene to resolve delays.
  • Align vehicle availability, delivery partner readiness, and inventory loading to avoid start-time delays.
  • Implement corrective actions for routes failing to meet OTD targets.

6. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with transport, warehouse, sales, and production teams for smooth operations.
  • Manage interactions with manpower vendors and ensure service-level compliance.
  • Address escalations from sales, distributors, or retail customers promptly.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong people management and team leadership skills.
  • Experience in hiring and managing large delivery partner teams.
  • Good understanding of dairy/milk last-mile operations.
  • Strong problem-solving and crisis-handling ability.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and basic MIS tracking.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage early-morning dispatch operations.

Qualification & Experience

  • 1 year minimum experience in last-mile operations, preferably in dairy/FMCG.
  • Prior experience handling manpower-intensive operations is essential.
