Yield/Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze manufacturing yield data and quality metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of product failures, defects, and process deviations using tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA.
  
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, process engineering, design, and supply chain to improve product yield and quality.
  
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by establishing yield targets and quality standards.
  
• Develop and maintain process control plans, inspection criteria, and quality documentation.
  
• Perform statistical analysis and use Six Sigma, Lean, or other quality methodologies to drive process improvements.
  
• Lead or participate in quality audits and compliance activities.
  
• Generate reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
  
• Assist in supplier quality management by evaluating and improving supplier processes and materials.
  
• Train manufacturing teams on quality standards and best practices.
  

Required Skills:

• Proven experience (X+ years) in yield improvement, quality engineering, or process engineering.
  
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical tools such as Minitab, JMP, or equivalent.
  
• Experience with quality management systems (QMS) like ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing.
  
• Proficient in root cause analysis techniques and problem-solving methodologies.
  
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and test methodologies relevant to the industry.
  
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and process flowcharts.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  
• Experience with quality software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  
• Experience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, automotive, or medical device industries.
  
• Familiarity with failure analysis tools such as SEM, X-ray, or other inspection technologies.
  
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and control charting.
  
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects.
